The Lafette Inn was built in 1890 and has a long tradition. Originally, it was used as a horse relay station and got its name from a gun left by French troops in 1796 during the War of the First Coalition against revolutionary France. In the 1930s, there was a petrol station at the inn, which was operated by the innkeeper on the side.
Today, the inn is a modern hotel with historical charm, lovingly renovated and extended. A glass lift with a view of the ski jumping hill leads from the cellar to the barn in the attic, and the property houses a small museum with a historical petrol station and exhibits from 100 years of automotive history, as well as Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service vehicles.
